About

Welcome to my blog! My name is Danielle and I am a life-long book addict. I was first dragged into the world of crafting in 2009 when two of my friends grabbed me during summer break from college and said “We’re going to Otakon next year and you’re coming too. Oh, and we have to cosplay for it.”

“Uh…” I said, “…what’s cos…play?”

Highly skeptical, I nonetheless started looking up tutorials, painting beads, designing a staff for my character, and figuring out how on earth you thread a sewing machine. Fast-forward to August 2010, my friends and I get dressed up, pile in a car, and head up to Baltimore. Suddenly, there were people everywhere in costume or wearing geeky shirts and accessories. I had never had so much fun in my life–able to relax for the weekend and to be someone else, but at the same time to be so freely myself.

I was hooked.

In the nearly seven years since then, I have continued on my self-taught journey. I have learned so much about sewing and crafting, but I know I still have so much to learn. I invite you to join me as I share tips I have learned and mistakes I have learned from, as well as tutorials and progress logs of current projects!
